My father and some of his movers work to move one of Alabama's governors out of the Governor's Mansion.
Montgomery has trusted their belongings with our family since 1972. We have moved and stored everything from one piece of office equipment to small apartments to governors and other high level officials to large state offices and libraries.
The President and Owner of Montgomery Movers, Scott Turner is a third generation member of Montgomery's Moving Industry. After retiring from the service, Scott's grandfather worked in Montgomery for his father for over 20 years, a tenure that stretched from the 1970's to the 1990's. Scott's father Frank Turner, Jr, known to his friends as "Sonny"', is still working actively and has been in the business since he was fifteen, over 45 years!
A lifetime career was started. As a young boy Scott Turner worked afternoons after school and on weekends sweeping the warehouse, cleaning the office and other odd jobs around the business. As a teenager he began packing and working on trucks, loading and unloading furniture. As the years progressed, Scott's responsibilities expanded to include mover, sales, clerical, dispatching, customer service, management and everything in between under his father's supervision as an agent for Allied Van Lines.
After an extensive education in the family trade, Scott was recruited to run a United Van Lines agency that also owned a Records Storage Company, Truck Rental Division and Portable Storage Division. After a couple years with this organization, Scott founded Montgomery Movers, LLC.
"Montgomery Movers only does Local Moving and Storage," says it's third generation mover owner. "Instead of trying to do a lot of different types of moving, we just want to be a really good local mover. Montgomery Movers believes in our community and works everyday to provide a high quality, local moving service that the other moving companies in town tend to neglect for higher paying military, cross country and records storage. We do not have a big out of town carrier, franchise or military office telling us how we are going to run our business. Our customer's know that the final decision makers on their moves are their neighbors."
